Janevska: Today, the future of Macedonia is being built in schools, let’s all commit to creating more successful young generations – Telegraph

“Today the new school year begins and the joy of childhood, happiness, curiosity and competitive atmosphere return to schools. I wish all students and their families, teachers and professional collaborators a good start and much success in the days to come. I am sure that everyone can achieve their goals, fulfill their obligations and responsibilities with good health and sufficient effort.”
This is the message that the Minister of Education and Science, Prof. Dr. Vesna Janevska, sent on the occasion of the start of the new school year 2025-2026. The Minister, together with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and the Mayor of Kisela Voda, Orce Gjorgjievski, visited the “Kiril Pejčinović” Primary School, where first-grade students were given bags, uniforms and new textbooks.
Janevska emphasized that the Government and the Ministry of Education and Science, together with responsible institutions and local governments, have taken care to ensure all conditions for a good start and quality learning. As the minister emphasized, textbooks have been provided for all students and this will no longer be a topic of discussion.
Major investments have been made in infrastructure where necessary, and it was also announced that investments in better schools and sports halls will continue in the coming period. Artificial intelligence education begins. Formal education has been introduced for students undergoing longer hospital treatment, the number of educational assistants in primary schools has increased significantly, while for the first time educational assistance has been introduced in secondary education. In addition, a new electronic diary has been introduced, which will no longer hinder the work of teachers.
“Students are left to learn, research, ask questions, find and compare sources of knowledge and information and of course build friendships with their peers. As for teachers, who are the pillars of education, together with parents and guardians of students, it remains to continue to show the path to success of the younger generations and teach them true values”, said the minister, calling for unity in building schools filled with knowledge and respect as well as an environment in which young people will want to stay and invest their potential. Therefore, today in schools – the future of Macedonia is being built.
